DragonCon 2011 Sat. cont.

One of the things that J-baby and I have in common is our love of books- and Sir Terry Pratchett!  There was a panel to discuss his works, and we had to go!

Cool staff!  Is he...?
YES!!!  THE DEATH OF RATS!!!!
In my opinion, the BEST cosplay ever!  With light up eyes!!!  Dude!!!!

Random shot at the Light Fantastic Panel
EEEiiiiii
Ok, after this awesome little panel, J-baby and I ran to go into the Guild panel!  And then we had to wait in line...again....

A Dr. Horrible cosplayer!
A lot of people for the Guild panel
The girls from The Guild!!!!
This panel rocked!  It starred the lovely Amy Okuda, Felicia Day, & Robin Thorsen!!!  They were funny and loved to see cosplayers of their characters.

Then guess what we did?  Yup, got back in line for the Star Trek:  Next Generation panel!  Sheesh!!!!

This line was LONG
The twins joined us for this panel.  Must hide from the sun!!!!
Booo!  So far away!!!
One major thing I learned was this:  Don't plan two must see panels back to back, because lines get long.  I will know better for 2013.  Also, don't let J-baby drag his feet!

Glad we made it to this panel though, because it had Garret Wang directing (oh course!!!), Wil Wheaton (Wesly Crusher), Brent Spiner (it's "spine" r, aka Data), and Gates McFadden (Dr. Beverly Crusher!!).  Brent Spiner tweeted something funny before the con.  Something along the lines of, "heading to dragoncon with my son, Wil Wheaton, and his mother, Gates McFadden.  He was funny in person- and brownie points for wearing a pink shirt!

DragonCon 2011 Sat., Sept. 3, Day 2

Saturday was the parade, which we missed, but oh well.  Got up to the street and realized we were both too short to see from the back, and decided to find the dealers room instead.  G-cup disappeared on us again, which turned out to be her routine for the entire con!  LOL!  At least we knew she was alive!  So on with random pictures!!

Mini Halo Player!!!
So cute!  Actually saw this kid Friday night, but I got lazy and decided to put his pic with the Saturday post.  Yeah, I'm lazy.  Sheesh.

Check out her arm!!!  Cool!
Awesome headpiece!

Disney cosplayers!!!
The evil witch queen from Narnia!!!
Dude...his wings twitched!
Ok, I need to break this up!  And hopefully I know when my pictures for Saturday stopped, and pictures for Sunday started!  And I just got pictures from J-baby's aunty too.  Crap, I need a code name for her too!

DragonCon 2011 Fri., Sept2, day 1 cont.

Lordy, no more of day one!  Ok, a few more...

J-baby made sure to pack one of his books by Timothy Zahn because he was going to be at the Con.  I forgot to look for one of mine, but luckily, they had a few of his Star Wars ones there. Considering we ended up staying in line twice (don't ask) it was pretty cool.  We met this couple in line that reminded me of J-baby and me.  The guy had a goofy sense of humor and the wife was more talkative.  Hope J-baby and I will be like that in forty years!  Still going to conventions and driving each other crazy!  Sweet!  Anyways....

Charlaine Harris signing!
Turns out Charlaine Harris, the author of the Southern Vampire Series (which inspired True Blood), was in the next area.  Her line was incredibly long, and poor G-cup waited HOURS for her John Hancock.  But she finally did get it!  Hooray!

J-baby, me, & Zahn!!!
Ok, have to tell you this, but there was this one guy in line who was a HUGE fan of Zahn.  Not in the weight sense, but in the 'I brought 40+ books for him to sign' sense.  The handlers asked him to get in the very back of line, so he would be signed last.  WOW.

Here is the guy!  He was nice!
On with random pictures!

The Guild cosplayers!  Clara & Codex!!!
Go troops!
Suckerpunch cosplayers!  Awesome!!!
These girls were lost- and for a picture, we showed them to the Sheraton.  Good thing we were on our way there!  They made these costumes- sweet!  Jealous of their talent!!!!

One cool thing about this con is that it brings out the creative side!  Some guy built a motorcycle with wicked dragons!  I want one!!!!!
After retreating back to our hotel room, we were lucky to meet  up with some friends we hadn't seen since Animazment 2010!  The twins met us for a game of magic, OF COURSE!

Can you see G-cup?
J-baby
G-cup isn't done yet!  This is a break before she goes out again!
Dog pile?
The Dharma Initiative!!!!
OMG, one very cool thing is J-baby and I had been rushing to finish Lost off Netflix.  After magic, we decided to wander the hotel, and found this guy!!!  EIII if only the guy who played Ben Linus was around!  And that is day one of the con!  Next year I will definitely take more pictures- but I was overwhelmed, damnit!

DragonCon 2011 Fri., Sept.2, Day 1 cont.

Right after the True Blood panel, J-baby and I jumped back in line for the Being Human panel.  It just happened to be in the same room in the Marriot, so we didn't get lost looking for it!  It was a Q&A with Meaghan Rath (the lovely ghost Sally), and Sam Huntington (the adorkable werewolf Josh).  Sam Witwer (Aiden the vampire) couldn't make it.

Look how close we are to the speakers!  Ouchy!!

Huntington leaps onto the stage!
GAA stupid flash!
It was really a fun panel to watch!  Miss Rath shared her own fangirl moment when she confessed her SQUEE-ness at being in an elevator with Jim Parrack (Hoyt from True Blood).

It was a great panel!  Can't wait til next season!!!  Okay, and now for more random photos!!  Thankfully, DragonCon had this awesome app for us to figure out when to chill and when to run to a panel.  After the Being Human panel, it was chill time!

The Sith
Um....orange chaps...
Oh Darth....
Oh yeah, did I mention the Vampire Food Drive?  Actually, it was a blood drive, but each year they give out t-shirts and J-baby said the shirt wasn't free if you had to give up blood.  Heehee.  Anyways, I'll take a pic of the shirt asap to post it up here.  They asked the weirdest questions, and I had to call my parents for a few of the answers!  Didn't know living in Germany for a few years was a red flag!!!  Weird!

My blood!

The Sailor Scouts give blood!
J-baby enjoying the Voyager panel
After the blood drive, J-baby and I jumped in line for the Voyager - 70,000 Light Years Away panel.  Holy cow it was funny!  And a HUGE plus was that we met the Trek Track Director, Garrett Wang (aka the adorable Ensign Harry Kim) while wandering around the convention the next day.  I admit, I totally fanboy-ed him.  *sigh*  But he was really down to earth and was sweet and took our emails.  Guess to send us promotions for a company he and his buddy Eddie Turner are doing.  I mentioned wanting Star Trek onesies for our future babies, and he said they would be designing some in future!  Cool!  Ok, have to link that site:  www.COSMIC-CITY.com  It truly made my con.

Garrett Wang!!!!!
Ensign Paris, Captain Janeway, & Ensign Kim
Ok, this was awesome!  The panel had Robert Duncan McNeill (that rascal, Ensign Tom Paris), Garrett Wang (duh!), and the wonderful Kate Mulgrew (the first EVER female CAPTAIN, Kathryn Janeway!!!)  Ok, now that I see how that is spelled, I would totally name a little girl that.  Wow-I dork myself out....

This must have been my fav panel.  At one point, McNeill dropped to do push ups because one fan asking questions was RIPPED.  Holy cow, it wasn't a nice six pack!  Why didn't I take a picture?!

Ok, more later, non-existent folks!
