Thank You Card

Love quick & dirty thank you cards.  They always turn out great! 

Here I used tim holtz paper rosette die, peeled paint distress ink, and a large cling background stamp with a little glitter.  Love the quickie glue pens & they added a little shine to this card.  I used a wood mounted thank you stamp, but sorry, no idea the maker!  Then cut out the design and glued it on the rosette.  Sweet!  My fav thing about this card is the ribbon- forgot I had purchased a xyron sticker maker at a scrapbook yard sale.  I recently saw one being used on youtube, remembered I have one, dug it out, bought the sticker stuff, and now it sits on my desk READY FOR ACTION! 

First Mixed Media project

Love this!  Ok, so I had a wedding with a few steampunk pieces of flare.  This pic was amazing and the whole project turned out better than I expected.  Even my hubby liked it!! 
I used walnut stain distress stain, Hawaiian blue chalk ink, glimmer mist, gold acrylic paint from ranger, pearl dust embossing on the little embellishments, a clockpiece from tim holtz, and i dont know what else!  I love it & more so because my hubby likes it too!  Cant wait to show it off!

Say I Do page

It sadly took me TWO DAYS to finish the page.  Might have helped if I wasn't trying to organize the library & entertaining my hubby half the time!  I think I get more done at a crop-sheesh.

Anyways, i used a ton of Tim Holtz products here.  Love that guy!  The background page was from one of his paper packs.  I used his grungeboard with Dusty Concard Distress Ink & Pashmina glitter spray by Tattered Angels.  Is that company still around?  I can't recall if I've seen them at the conventions recently.  The journaling tag is just black cardstock edged with a rugged looking scalloped scissors.  The fabric flowers were misted with the same pashmina color-and they were actually decorations at my wedding.  I saved a balloon from the reception too.

Pocari Sweat

Here is a lovely scrap page I made for my Honeymoon album.  J-baby & I spent two AWESOME weeks in Tokyo Japan & I made sure to take pictures of EVERYTHING we ate & drank.
Pocari Sweat is a gross drink J-baby heard of from a friend & we had to try it.  It's a popular sports drink which i found to be so sickingly sweet and yet convienent to find....
For the page I used my gypsy to make the words & thought a collage of my hubby drinking the nasty stuff was perfect.  :)

J-Baby's Valentine Day Card

Ok, ever since J-Baby & I started playing Minecraft, I've had this little idea in my head.  The creeper has hearts in his eyes, and the inside of the card just says SSSSSS.....
LOVE THIS CARD!  Just had to express how much his love makes me EXPLODE with love!!  Yes, I'm sappy.

Birthday card #2

Feel like I'm finally catching up with my card making.  Another bday card for my fav female coworker!  Its a simple card, but pretty!  Used the storybook cartridge for the phrase and a random pretty tag.

Birthday Card

Wanted to make a b-day card for an gal at work.  Got two departments to sign it, and hopefully she likes the hippy butterfly.  Used my gypsy wanderings for the butterfly & finally used that tissue paper for the background!

My First Gypsy Project!!!

My dear, non-existing readers!  I'm so stoked that for my 30th birthday I finally got a Gypsy!!!!  My scrapbooking is about to get kicked up a notch!!
My first little assignment is an embellishment-name tag for Gordo's scrap pages.  Ain't it cute?

Wedding Congrats Card

Ok, so two friends got hitched this weekend and I made them this card.  I traced the pattern on the paper with a glue pen, and glittered the hell out of it!  Also used my new corner punch, and pale lovey dovey ribbon.  And once again used my scallop circle punch and gold gel pen.  There are certain items that every scrapper much have!

Go Baby Gamecocks!

He's an angry Gamecock chick!!!!!

A girl at work is having a baby, so the office is throwing her a shower.  I volunteered to make the invites, and the gal in charge inspired me to make it gamecock themed.  You know, to include the dad's tastes too!  Well, this is what I came up with.

I love my cricut.  I used my perma-tac gun, pop-up dots on the shell, old fashioned elmors glue, and FINALLY used one of my new cartridges!  The lettering and 'baby' phrase came from the 'All Mixed Up' font cartridge.  The little chick and egg came from the 'Create a Critter' shape cartridge.  Used garnet red to bring out the USC colors, with a baby blue background-since duh!  It's a boy!  Thankfully, nobody noticed the missing ' !

Love this chair J-baby brought home!  Perfect to dry cards on!!!

UPDATE!!!  Today, the chicka that is having the baby told me the sweetest thing!  She took her invite home and has it on her fridge!  COOL!!!!!

Intermission!

A really sweet woman at work broke her arm so I wanted to make her a 'Get Well' card.  Finally got to use that awesome floral chipboard I got ages ago!  Pretty!

2011 CREATING KEEPSAKES CONVENTION!!!

It came...it went...it rocked my world!!!!


Hello, non-existent readers!  Sorry for taking so long to post about my long awaited trip to Charlotte, NC for the CKC, but I had a pet emergency!  My poor baby Gordo developed a nasty ear infection, and needed my attention!

The Creating Keepsakes Convention was actually a two day thing, but I couldn't go because of work & money!  I met up with a couple of gal pals friday night, and we got a chance to scrap away!  It was awesome!  EARLY saturday morning I got up, and went to my mom's place to pick her up.  She was actually ready and waiting to go!!!  (She usually sleeps til noon- ah, the life of a housewife!)  Anyway, I dropped the ball by forgetting to print the convention coupons Shiny Gal sent me!  No fear, Sparkly Gal took mini-Sparkly Gal to McDonalds for breakfast, so total score there!

Mom & Me!  Are my poof balls crooked?  I think they are...

It takes about an hour and a half to get to Charlotte, so it wasn't a bad ride.  My butt was asleep, but I made it!!  We pulled into the parking lot, and you could feel the excitement!!!!

I usually take classes, but with the wedding, honeymoon, Christmas, and DragonCon, I thought I would be better to skip them this year.  Next year we plan to go for both days, AND take classes!

EEEIII the excitement!  Hundreds of women (and a few men too!) running around, trying new products, spending money, and trying to keep their eyes in their sockets!  "So pretty!!!  Must...not...steal...!"  I try to stick with a small list of things to look for, so I don't go broke.  Yikes, did I overspend!!!  Wonder if the other Glitter, Glue, and Gab girls did the same?

My To-Get List:

• steampunk gears for wedding invites & J-Baby's steampunk outfit
• ball point glue pen for fine glitter decorations!
• lacquer glue

Crossing our fingers to win at the drawing!  Must win scrapbooking supplies!!

This year I also went to the Stamping Convention and my mom is still convinced I'm lucky, because I won like 100 scrap bucks.  LOL

Make and takes!!  These are so fun!  Like a mini-class for free!!! 

At the first make and take, mom and I made these cute little cards.  It inspired us to buy the little shredder/distresser machine, foam tape (similiar to pop-up dots), and this wide tip glue stick that my mom liked.  Must scan or take a picture of that make and take!

The second make and take showed off a scalloped punch (already own) and two die cuts which I might hunt down later.  The stocking is actually a stamp & its bits are from a die cut.  the white tag itself is also a die cut.  Very cute!

One great thing about the convention is that they  have free product demos.  My mom fell in love with this sticky paper and laquer stuff, and of course, we had to get her the fine glitter!  Crap, must take pictures of her upcoming projects with them!  Anyways, about four hours later, we were starving...

Hmm...I don't think mom is having a good time...

 

 Okay, just had to post this funny picture up!  Nobody is mad, it's just that mini-Sparkly said something funny/weird at that exact moment!  *snicker*

Oh wow, this is a long post.  I'm going to break it up into two or three more, so no worries people!

LAST SECOND BIRTHDAY CARD!

All I have to say is,  thank goodness for amazon gift cards!  This little steampunk themed card took me about five minutes.  Ten, if you count the five I took panicking for ideas.  I used Tim Holtz paper and distress ink (walnut stain), and the Tim Holtz gears die cut.  Basically, thanks Tim Holtz!
J-Baby printed out a gift card, and gave him a magic card, and vuala!   Instant birthday gift for the any otaku! LOL

An unconventional birthday card!

Time for SCRAPPINESS!!  This week is my friend's bday & I just HAD TO make her a card! Why spend hundreds of dollars on awesome scrap stuff if your not going to use it?
I was a little disappointed I couldn't post this until after I give her the card, and realize this AM that she wouldnt't see the post til tonight! Duh!
Anyway, I made this unusual beauty using the Nursery Rhymes cricut cartridge (give me a second & I will explain!), random brazil stock paper, and some string!  Actual tiny ass string!  My next post will have a close up of the kitty string.
Ok, I used the Nursery Rhymes cartridge becaz I wanted dancing kitties.  And they are supposed to be carrying presents!  I also had the phrase "Have a Purr-fect Birthday" stuck in my head.
I say this card is weird because it doesn't look like your standard birthday card, does it?  At least, that's what my J-baby says.  I don't care- it's pretty!  So there!

Some days it's so slow at work, I can get away with pretending to be four years old & color.  I happen to be coloring paper gears for a steampunk costume, but it's still knocking down my maturity level.
